As an Amazon Associate, you can earn a 10% commission from a reader’s purchase of the Kindle: Amazon’s New Wireless Reading Device.
The Kindle is the kind of device you used to see on Star Trek. (Yes, I might have been a Trekkie at one point in my life.) It is a portable reader that wirelessly downloads books, newspapers, magazines, and blogs. It has a sharp, high-resolution screen display that looks and feels just like regular paper. It is very simple to use. All you have to do is shop the Kindle Store wirelessly from your Kindle and download new items you want to read. For example, you buy a book, and it is downloaded onto your Kindle in one minute.    Â
Obviously, you don’t need a PC, and, even better, you don’t need a WiFi hotspot. The real value here is that Amazon pays for the wireless connectivity, which means you don’t have to pay a cent for the wireless connection. It essentially works like a cell phone.
The selection of content is astounding. The Kindle Store has approximately 100,000 books (including 90 of the current 112 New York Times bestsellers) and hundreds of newspapers, magazines, and blogs. You can also access The New Oxford American Dictionary and browse Wikipedia. You can even e-mail your Word documents and pictures to your Kindle and review them when you’re on the go.Â
The Kindle device itself weighs about 10 ounces, which makes it lighter and thinner than your ordinary paperback book. It can carry content equal to about 200 books. Thus, you can carry around a small, thin pocket device, but, in reality, you have a library at your disposal!
Now let me explain how you can make a lot of money from referring buyers to the Kindle.Â
The Kindle costs $399, so a 10% commission on one sale is $39.90.  However, it can get much more lucrative.  In addition to the 10% commission on the Kindle, you earn commission on the customer’s downloads of books. (You do not earn commissions on newspaper, magazine, or blog subscriptions, but, apparently, that feature will also be available in the future.) Thus, when Amazon ships a Kindle to a customer you referred, your income doesn’t stop there. You gain passive income from all the books (from the 100,000 available) that customer downloads. Moreover, those downloads don’t require any effort from you whatsoever. You don’t have to drive traffic to your site. You don’t have to point readers to your “hot deals” page on your blog. One sale of a Kindle equates to a steady, effortless stream of passive income. Brilliant.
If you want to add to your online profits, I highly recommend the Amazon Kindle affiliate program.
