Thus, if you need to pay for hosting but want to keep expenses low, you can use BlueFur.com. BlueFur hosts this blog, and it has hosting plans for as low as $6.95 per month. There are other plans that are more expensive, but if you’re starting off, the Mini Unix plan (for $6.95) is perfect. That’s the plan I have. (You can also get a 10% discount off any purchase by entering ”flimjoman” as the promo code at checkout.)
The Mini Unix plan includes features like 1,000 MB of disk space, a 50 GB monthly transfer limit, a 99% uptime guarantee, unmetered e-mail accounts, mailing lists, add-on domains, sub-domains, and FTP accounts. It also offers several items free of charge, including e-mail marketing tools, website migration, and web services.Â
The two most important features of the Mini Unix (and BlueFur.com in general) are:
1) Wordpress comes incorporated. In other words, you can select Wordpress as the platform from which you operate your blog, and BlueFur.com automatically sets it up for you.
2) 24/7 customer service. This is huge.  When I signed up, I remember calling several times with my ignorant questions, and I also received support via e-mail. BlueFur.com is excellent in this regard, and that alone is worth choosing them to host your blog.

1A lot of people seem to plug BlueFur, I’m assuming they have a pretty good affiliate program. Have you made anything off of that? I’m interested, but I already have hosting….

2Hi Joe, thanks for the comment. BlueFur does have an affiliate program. I just became an affiliate three days ago. I haven’t made any money yet. But the potential seems to be there. They have two programs. As a Standard Affiliate, you make 20% of each sale. As a Discount Affiliate, you make 10% off each sale, and you offer your customers 10% off any purchase.
