John Chow has finally figured out what to do with the 18,817 Entrecard credits he has amassed over time.  He’s going to give away 10,000 of them to a lucky blogger!

The Contest

The contest is simple: Write a post about his contest on your blog (like I am doing here), and send a trackback to him.  If the trackback doesn’t work, simply leave the URL address of your blog post on his comments.

At the end of the month, John will draw a name from all the entries, and he will transfer 10,000 credits to the lucky winner’s account.

Benefits of Entrecard

I recently wrote about the change in Entrecard’s valuation system.  These changes helped reinforce the two main benefits of Entrecard.

1) Cheap Advertising.  Small bloggers with limited resources can get a lot of exposure by advertising on highly-trafficked blogs.  For example, you can buy an ad on John Chow Dot Com for a little over 2,000 Entrecard credits.  So, instead of spending a few hundred dollars, you spend this fake currency that you can accumulate by dropping your EC card on other blogs and selling ads on the EC space on your own blog.

2) Promotion.  Dropping your EC card on other blogs has the added benefit of promoting your blog to others.  The owners of blogs on which you dropped your EC card will often visit your blog and reciprocate the drop.  If they like what they see on your blog, you may have found new readers and subscribers.

Join the contest.  10,000 credits can come in very handy.
