Dereck, thanks for the comment. It is, indeed, the same in all 9-to-5 jobs.

Wow. A law firm?

Either way, you're right when you say it's similar in many kinds of jobs. The common denominator is irrational tunnel vision that leads to a dollar. Even when another route might make more.

Shucks.

Dereck Coatneys last blog post..<a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/IWillNotDie/~3/26hdycKaFng/" rel="nofollow">Can Twitter Help Promote This Fundraiser?</a>

I absolutely will. When I get into it (as soon as we finish paying off our credit card debt), I intend to document our progress. Nothing like real-world success to back up these posts.

Hey Anca. Well, my number one way to get off the paycheck is real estate. I intent to buy properties and rent them out for cash flow. There's a post on this blog about how that works. That's my primary way to develop income without having to work. With the proper research, too, it's the easiest.

It is miserable, but stilll every day when I go there I try to think positive and have some fun while I'm doing it. I have a category in my blog too that's simply called "money", which reflects my online research on ways to make money without having a job. I will be back, and am curious how you'll get off that paycheck. That is my biggest wish too!

Hi Anca, thanks for the comment! It looks like you and I share the same desire: getting out from under "working for the man." I've been working for almost two years now, too, and it's miserable!! Some people might think we're spoiled or crazy, but I don't think we are. I've written about several ways to get off the paycheck. Investing in rental properties is one way, and starting a business is another. There's no reason why we can't succeed on our own as entrepreneurs. Thanks for reading, and I hope you come back!

Hi there, just discovered your blog. Nice! And I totally know what you mean in your story. I feel the same way. I've "only" been employed for under 2 years, before that I was just going to school. I started my blog because I have a passion for writting, the Internet and computers, so it was perfect for me. But another reason was that, like you, I am trying to discover ways to become self-employed. I'm currently making no money from it, but I'm learning a bunch and hope I'll be able to start some projects that would enable me to make some extra money. Good luck with everything, I'll be checking back!

Hi Lynn, thanks for the comment. Nope, he doesn't see his family all that much. His work is his life. He probably got pushed around a lot when he was in my shoes and feels it necessary to do the same to his employees. That's just no way to go through life.
