I’ve been getting a bit addicted to search engine optimization (SEO) lately, especially with some of my blog posts and the BANS stores.  I’ve tracked a few of my blog posts, and I found that some of the more recent ones are on the first 2 to 3 pages of Google results for specific keywords.

SEO isn’t hard at all.  And the best part about it is that the information you need to improve your SEO skills is FREE and readily available on the Internet.

A quick search on YouTube, for instance, brought me to a short video by the SEO expert himself, Aaron Wall!  In the video below, Aaron runs through several helpful points about SEO and related concepts.  Among them are:

  • Figuring out where you rank before you even start with SEO so that you know what needs to be improved;
  • Mixing things up to make a web page more compelling;
  • Including links in your content;
  • Target each page to a specific term or keyword or keywords;
  • Mix and modify your selected keywords;
  • Using Wordtracker’s free keyword suggestion tool (I use this A LOT);
  • Using Quintura for coming up with ideas related to your selected keywords;
  • Look at the authoritative sites for your keywords (and market) to see what they have done with keywords, and then copy what they do;
  • The importance of link-building; and
  • Not becoming obsessed with SEO only (ironic) and remaining focused on getting people to do what you want and go where you want them to go on your website

This information is vital if you want to get your website to rank high in search results.  Enjoy the video!
